Hey everyone

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I was busy braving the hardship of Cuba's beaches with family.  It's been a tough couple of weeks!  Truth be told, Janna and I were gone from Comox for just shy of 2 weeks.  We spent one in Kelowna with friends from the Vineyard church there, one in Calgary with Mom, Dad, and our friends at Epic, and finished it all off with an amazing trip to Cuba.  We spent a week there with my parents, and my sisters family.

We've had an amazing couple of weeks.  It's always so good when you can just connect with friends and family.  God has blessed Janna and I so richly, but there is no greater gift on earth than the connection we have to so many amazing people.  Henri Nouwen said that "although we speak of 'making friends,' friends cannot be made.  Friends are free gifts from God."  As is often the case with Henri, I couldn't say it better myself.  I am learning that there is nothing greater than friendship.  I love that Jesus said "I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me." John 15.15

It is truly a joy and an honor to call many of you friend.  Thanks to everyone who helped to fill this past few weeks with incredible memories, laughs, inspiration, and life.  I need to go now… Curtis and Andrea Glas, and Cheri M are visiting and we're going to the Comox Valley Farmers Market this morning.  And on goes the journey…

ok…could you eat more cow in one sitting…I think not! What a joy to watch you devour a complete side of beef. You put a ravenous wolf to shame. It was truly a blast to hang with you guys while you were out our way…now it's our turn to come your way. I bless you guys on your journey…and it's a privelege to call you friends. Peace, d.
